Retina services are headed by Dr. Bhavesh, fellowship trained in the same from Sankara Nethralaya. We provide both medical and surgical retina care.

Retina surgeries are done on Mondays and Tuesdays or any other day in special circumstances.

We have the “ Zeiss Visupac FF 450 Plus™ ” Fundus camera for Fundus photos and Fluorescein Angiographies (FFA).

We have the “ Zeiss Cirrus HD OCT 4000™ ” for doing OCTs or Optical Coherence Tomography, a test which shows us the cross sectional details of the retina in high resolution. It also helps in glaucoma diagnosis.

Ultrasound B-scan is done here with a 10 MHz probe on the “ Rayman™ ” B-scan machine. It helps us in assessing the structures inside the eye when direct visualization is difficult due to cataract, corneal condition, trauma etc

We have the “ Zeiss Visulas™ ” Laser system with all three types of delivery systems. Lasers are done for all retinal conditions like diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, lattice degeneration, vein occlusions, Central Serous Retinopathy (CSR), Wet ARMD etc.with thousands of patients benefitting from the same.

Scleral buckling surgeries are done for Retinal detachments with around hundred odd patients benefiting from the same.

Vitrectomies for Retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, macular holes, epiretinal membrane are done with the latest sutureless technique using fine 23 and 25 G instruments with the Bausch and Lomb “ Stellaris PC™ ” and “ Millenium™ ” machines. Both are ultramodern Venturi machine systems with LED light source. Visualization is with the help of one of the best microscopes in the world “ Carl Zeiss™ MDO ” and the BIOM™ system. Around thousand odd patients have benefitted from the same.

Complications of cataract surgeries are treated with Scleral Fixated IOL (SFIOL) procedure and posterior fixation of iris claw lenses.
Complete endophthalmitis management is done from intravitreal antibiotic injections to vitrectomies.

Intravitreal injections like Macugen™, Avastin™, Lucentis™ ( Accentrix™ ), Ozurdex™, Eyelea™, IVTAs for various ocular conditions especially Wet ARMD, Vein occlusions and Diabetic retinopathy are given every day with thousands of patient benefitting.
